Shree Mishra, Ph.D

Dr. Subhashree (Shree) Mishra is serving as Acting Deputy Division Director for RISE. She recently completed a part-time detail to the Directorate for Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships (TIP) where she worked on formulating new translational climate initiatives and bringing together public-private partnerships for addressing climate challenges. Before her latest appointment, Dr. Mishra held the role of Program Director in the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and Facilities Section of the Division of Atmospheric and Geospace Sciences in the Directorate for Geosciences. She has overseen a portfolio of facilities and been part of the team providing oversight of NCAR, the largest Federally Funded Research and Development Center supported by NSF. Shree has served on multiple inter-disciplinary and cross-directorate working groups at NSF and in several interagency committees on topics such as supercomputing, cyber-infrastructure, graduate education, earth observations, and clean energy.

Her previous experience includes a role as an AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow at the Solar Energy Technology Office at the Department of Energy and a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies in Norman, Oklahoma. Dr. Mishra’s educational background includes a Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences from the University of Nevada, Reno, where she studied cloud processes relevant to climate sensitivity
