Soronzonbold Otgonbaatar, aka Sozo

SpecialityPhD student, Remote Sensing Technology Institute, German Aerospace Center (DLR) & Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Germany

Soronzonbold Otgonbaatar obtained his bachelor and master degree in theoretical particle physics. Currently, he is a PhD student in computer science and about defend his PhD work. His interest lies in computing, and he cares deeply about inventing and utilizing both quantum and classical techniques to real-world problems of practical significance. He published one of the first studies on quantum computing for Earth observation, and was the principal investigator (PI) of “Quantum Computing for Earth Observation (QC4EO)” use-case study funded by European Space Agency (ESA). The QC4EO project aims to identify classically intractable Earth observation use-cases for a quantum computer, i.e. which intractable use-case can be tackled on which quantum machine, and analyze different quantum machines based on their technology.
